Frequently asked.
Everything people usually want to know before they apply: who Privance is for, how the tracks work, what it costs, and what you actually walk away with. If your question is not here, email hello@privance.io.
Is this for me?
No. Bronze and the Level 1 track start from the fundamentals and assume no prior experience. Chad's whole job is to take people with no tech background from zero to ready, building IT and Active Directory basics and core identity concepts at a pace that does not leave you behind.
Yes. Privance runs online. Bronze is self-paced and recorded, and the Analyst Track and Engineer Track live sessions and one-on-one mentorship are delivered live and remotely, so you can take part from anywhere.
You are taught by two practicing engineers, not career instructors, and you go deep on the exact platforms enterprises run: CyberArk, Okta, and Active Directory, plus the full GRC stack of SOX, HIPAA, and NIST. It is hands-on labs and real tooling rather than slideware, with a clear handoff from foundations to advanced work and mentorship through your job search.
How the membership works.
It depends on your track and your starting point. Bronze is self-paced. The IAM Analyst Track is about six months to job-ready; the IAM Engineer Track is about twelve months and continues into the engineering work. You advance from Level 1 to Level 2 once you pass the readiness check, so the exact length still varies by person, and you stay a member for as long as you need.
Plan to treat it like serious part-time study. The live group sessions, hands-on labs, and capstone work all take real time, and you get out what you put in. For a schedule tailored to your situation, email hello@privance.io and we will walk you through what a typical week looks like.
Chad leads Level 1: entry-level IAM and CyberArk, IT and Active Directory fundamentals, and core identity concepts. Lance leads all advanced work, the full compliance stack of SOX, HIPAA, and NIST, your capstone, and the career phase that gets you in front of employers.
You work with the platforms that show up in real identity and GRC job descriptions: CyberArk for privileged access, Okta for identity and single sign-on, and Active Directory for enterprise identity structure. On the governance side you cover SOX, HIPAA, and NIST through real practice rather than a generic survey.
What it costs.
They are two different career targets. The IAM Analyst Track is about six months to become a job-ready IAM Analyst, aimed at roles that typically pay 70 to 110 thousand dollars in the US. The IAM Engineer Track includes everything in the Analyst Track, then continues for about twelve months into the build-side engineering work, aimed at roles that typically pay 110 to 160 thousand and up. The Engineer Track adds CyberArk implementation, automation, paid CyberArk training, a covered Defender certification, and real engineering work you can put on your resume. Not sure yet? Start on the Analyst Track and move up when you are ready.
No, and you should be wary of anyone who promises one. We give you the skills, verifiable experience, and mentorship to compete for identity and GRC roles. The effort and the interviews are yours. We do not sell job guarantees: you bring the work, we bring the skills, experience, and mentorship.
Bronze is a one-time payment of 299 dollars, yours to keep forever. The IAM Analyst Track is 275 dollars a month and the IAM Engineer Track is 675 dollars a month, billed month to month, and you can cancel anytime. There is no deposit, no upfront lump sum, and no fixed term on the memberships. A rotating weekly promotion may discount either track further, and the live deal is always shown on the pricing page.
You can cancel your membership anytime. Refund specifics depend on timing, so we handle them case by case rather than with a blanket rule. Email hello@privance.io with your situation and we will walk you through the exact terms.
Apply to talk through your background and pick the right track, or schedule a call with us first. Engineer Track spots are limited, so if that track interests you it is worth reaching out early. You can also email hello@privance.io with any questions.
Got a question we did not cover?
